Re: (erielack) Paint for E. Stroudsburg Tower, et al

I use Testors Model Master number 1764 Euro Dark Green
for the main body color. Don Spiro suggested this
color in his article on scratch building the Andover
Station. This color does look right. For the red trim
color Don used SP Daylight Red, IIRC. I do not like
the color and I have used Delta Cream Coat Tuscan Red.
One thing you will find about painting structures in
DLW green and red is once you put them on the layout
you can not get enough light onto them. The green
color just soaks up the light and the building always
looks so dark and gloomy. I would suggest adding some
white to the green to model the building after the
paint has faded somewhat over the years. I did the
deport and freight house at Sussex on my layout with
the green color out of the bottle. Take them out side
they look right, put them right under a light source,
such as when painting on the work bench, they look
good. Install under the florescent lighting of the
layout with the lights 3 to 4 feet above the layout
and they look dark.
