Manville Wakefield also authored a book on the O&W primarily from 
Liberty south which also featured his artistic talents including a very 
nicely done rendition of the Mountaineer for the dust jacket painting. 
It is a very engaging treatise on the Summer trade the Catskills, like 
the Poconos participated in during the first three or four decades of 
the 20th century.

Manville's book, much like Robert Mohowski's book on the O&W milk trains 
and motor cars has appeal beyond just the O&W. Although describing the 
service of a particular road, they provide insight into similar regional 
operations of roads like the DL&W and to a lesser extent, the Erie.
