Another great book on this subject is COAL BOATS TO TIDEWATER by
Manville Wakefield. Mr. Wakefield taught at Oneonta college & was a pretty
good artist too. He illustrated the book with pen & ink drawings & did a
great cover picture of an ERIE frieght climbing the Starucca viaduct - I
forget the title of the book , but it was one of the Carleton publications -
might have been softcover THE ANTHRACITE ROADS. Sadly he passed away.
