Curtis Brookshire Manassas, VA You know it, and that's why I like the NJ&NY, because it's so unique, and survives so well today. Unfortunately, its uniqueness also leads to issues of modeling it, as I have yet to see a model kit or even scale plans for any stations on the line, especially the very unique and aesthetically pleasing Park Ridge, Hillsdale or Oradell stations. Fortunately, much of the line is intact up through Spring Valley and photos and track diagrams exist that cover much of its history. I have ideas about modeling parts in HO but have yet to find time and space. Although much of the line was single tracked (RR north of Oradell) passing sidings, freight sidings, and yards at Hillsdale and Spring Valley existed to add variety and challenge to the modeler. A diagram of the Hillsdale yard appears in Wilson Jones, and Spring Valley's Woodbine Yard is in use to this day, though bring a friend to chase off punks. The old station in Manassas isn't too shabby either... ------------------------------
