Re:(erielack) Erie's Alco /GE/ IR switcher



I'll bet that Ingersoll-Rand (note the "o") built the engine and air compressor there.  GE did the electrics, and ALCo provided the carbody, frame and trucks -- and the final assembly.

I don't remember whether I-R was on LV. CNJ or DL&W.

Ingersall Rand has a plant in Phillips burg, NJ, on the Lackawanna line (I think.)  I wonder if any part of that Erie 20, in the Diamond, was built there.
