Hi Bill and list; Every photo I have of a DL & W car shows a metal running board, Apex I would guess. That is what I intend to do, using Plano number 191 Boxcar walks (visit http://www.planomodelproducts.com/) so I can cut it to length; on some of their cov'd hopper walks the laterals are integral making shortening somewhat difficult. That said, I have a crisp photo of LNE car #12275 , only a month old, at the NY worlds Fair in 1939, and it has a wooden roofwalk. The old adage of always modeling from a photo is SOP here. How do you like the kits? I have some on order, but am curious as to other's opinions. They look good to me. Jim Harr Subject: (erielack) F&C HO DL&W Covered Cement Hoppers - Running Boards Hi folks, I recently purchased two of the new F&C HO DL&W Covered Cement Hoppers from Walthers and had a question about the running boards. The kit instructions shows car number #19674 and also includes wood running boards. A builder's photo from ACF of DL&W #19660 shows metal open grid running boards. Does any one have any idea what series of DL&W covered hoppers had wood running boards, if any? Thanks. Bill Botkin Centennial, CO ELHS #1377 ------------------------------
