I will always remember the frigid Winter day sitting in the cupola of the D&H caboose, listening to 385 struggle to make Beaver Lake with the final Snow Flake Special. Showing her age and In need of repairs, It was one of the last trips 385 made under steam I believe. This engine belongs in Spencer NC. at the former Southern Railway shops, now preserved as the Transportation museum. It's a fantastic location. They would love to have a genuine Southern Railway 2-8-0 operating, or on display down there! Plus It would get plenty of TLC that's for sure. 385 ran on the EL, list content. Todd (ELHS 1318)
