Any fan of the NYO&W Ry could tell you that it is no mystery at all.  This 
wreck occurred on Aug. 3, 1902 at Horton, NY (along route 17 about 10 miles 
west of Roscoe).  Two milk trains were involved, one train ran a signal. 
Four crewmen died.  See the book "O&W" by William Helmer  p. 96.
