Nice that #16 is going to be restored next summer. Is the unit serviceable? My recollections of the RV in Summit are more of the late 1960's to the end of the EL in 1976. Weekday visits to my grandparents house were most often rewarded with the RV climbing the hill up from Briant Park and crossing the bridges over Russell Pl, Ashwood Ave, Morris Ave , and Broad St to the EL connection in Summit. In this era I remember the red 70 tonner being a much warmer shade of red then it currently wears and striping on the hood was yellow. Was # 17 painted green with yellow striping at one time? I believe both units received the darker red with white stripes in a post EL era repaint.
