Al Holleuffer asked re: the ferry along the NJ Turnpike... > OK. I stand corrected. I had been told it was an E-L boat. > Which one is it > and who owns it? Seems like a strange place for a ferry to be beached. I remember an article in the Newark Star-Ledger several years ago about that ferry. The owner bought it after it was retired by the Staten Island Ferry folks, and towed it down to where it is now. He was (and claims, still is) supposed to restore it as a floating restaurant. It later caught fire due to vandals and heavily damaged it (and half submerged it into the swamp where it sits today), but the owner (who is in a wheelchair now, too) still swears he will turn it into a restaurant. Good luck! - Paul ------------------------------
