Folks,
I just picked up the book "H15-44 and H16-44 Diesel Locomotives"
from Withers Publishing. In common with past Withers books, it does a
railroad-by-railroad study of a particular diesel type. This book has 5
pages on the DL&W H16-44s, and their subsequent service on the EL (the
section on the Chihuahua Pacifico in Mexico covers the service of these
units after EL sold them in 1966).
The photo coverage is decent (including a nice end-shot builder's
photo of DL&W 930 on the title page), but the text information is somewhat
lacking (reflecting the difficulty for one or two people to write a book
about units on dozens of railroads). Notably, they seemed to imply that the
EL black/yellow scheme was simply a touch-up on the original DL&W paint.
Nevertheless, it's still a nice book, and photo reproduction is
great.
