White came to the EL in 1963. There is a drawing of the 300 in the EL
passenger equipment diagram, and that's dated March 19, 196. Check your copy as the
last digit is chopped from my copy. That date is likely pretty close to
reality.
That November '66 is interesting as the D&H car in D&H paint and carrying
White's Phoebe drumhead was on the first section of the last Phoebe. I wonder if
that last run was the catalyst to get the car to the EL.

This has been hashed many times before -- DL&W Pocono to 99 to EL 99 to CNJ
99. What made Shoemaker's car his own is that he had the dining room window
raised so as to not embarrass his guest with platform passengers looking in on
them while at the table. Perry was proud of that car and mentioned it often.
The 99 stands out in the fleet with the raised window line in the center
section.
