In 1951, Erie ran a fan trip with K-5A #2944 (I think) to Port Jervis and (maybe) diesels beyond to Scranton?  Long time ago, but I was on it.  K-5A's had BoxPok (say " box spoke") drivers which looked a little like discs.

By the way, Erie steam officially ended in March of 1954, according to several sources I looked up. As Pat Lederer mentioned, those were the NJ&NY commuter runs, primarily.
