I don't have the issue yet, but I have some photos of the 2513 with the slightly different numberboards. It appears it got the "oddball" numberboard shortly after delivery, looks like 1965. I believe the problem here is that the original numberboards on the U25Bs/GP35s/C424s/C425s were all made of glass. My assumption is that the glass numberboard was somehow shattered and replaced. When EL switched over to the white background numberboards, these were all made of plastic (the white portion was plexiglass).

The EL had many oddball units like this - GP35 2564, towards the end of its career on the EL, also got a "one-off" numberboard. And the C424s had almost uncountable variations on their numberboards.

There are only two existing EL SD45s - the 3607 at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, and EL 3632 (the former Bi-Ci unit), which, last time I was there, was at Altoona, PA, with its center hood missing, painted gray and lettered "Q#1" - it was used as a test bed to verify operation of rebuilt prime movers.

WC had one ex-EL SDP45, WC 6634.
