Re:(erielack) Named DL&W 10-1-2 Pullmans and More

The key is the "2". The Scenics are 10 section, 2 double bedroom, 1 drawing room. The Lakes are 10 section, 2 compartment, 1 drawing room (DIAMOND< Vol 16, Number 2, Page six -- Erie cars, to be sure, but the scheme is the same).

Erie ran 10-1-1's and everybody ran 12-1's. In fact, a 12-1 in any paint would be acceptable as a replacement or a charter car -- go nuts!

Branchline Trains has announced the availability of their 10-1-2 Pullmans "now" - page 83 October MR. They are offering three different names for DL&W: "Devils Lake", "Bowman Lake", and "Medicine Lake". I also understand that the DL&W had 10-1-2 Pullmans in the "Scenic" series, "Scenic Falls", "Scenic Slope", "Scenic Trail", and "Scenic Valley".

A while ago, Mike DelVecchio noted on this list that the Bachmann Pullmans were an exact model for the "Scenic" series DL&W cars. Can anyone describe the differences, if any, between the "Lake" series and "Scenic" series?

While I have seen a few photos of the DL&W "Scenic" series cars, never any photos of the "Lake" series.

Finally, Branchline has also announced an 8-1-2, 12-1, 14 section, 6-3 and 10-1-1. Are any of these correct for the DL&W service? Walthers also announced (pages 22/23 October MR) a 12-1, 8-1-2, and 14 section Pullman plus a 36 seat Pullman built diner. Can anyone determine if the diner is correct for DL&W?

Thanks for any help you can provide to clear this up.
