I've been editing a few stories (more on this in the future!) of EL operations, and had some preconceived notions of operations in northern New Jersey shot down. All you fans who observed this first-hand (or EL operators!), can you please clarify these? It is stated that Train CS-9, the big "junk train" from Croxton-Scranton, made set-outs at Boonton (empty wastewater cars, primarily), Denville (traffic for the Morristown & Erie and Morris & Essex line locals), Lake Junction, Port Morris, and Portland, PA. It also mentioned it picked up westbound empties. - Did CS-9 also set out at Dover? - Did the Dover Drill run light out of Dover and pick up its cars at Denville, or did it start with some cars from Dover and pick up the rest at Denville? - For eastbound traffic, due to facing-point switches, was this set off at Dover, and the respective Drills took the cars to Denville and/or Boonton? - Where did counterpart SC-8 do setouts? Dover? Portland? Thanks in advance! CS-9 certainly seems like a very modelable train, with exciting operational opportunities! - Paul Paul R.
