A few months back the question was raised on this forum as to whether the Timken 4-8-4 #1111 ever operated on the Erie. Not sure if it was answered and I missed it but the answer is yes. According to a tabulation the the Railway Age of Feb 13, 1932 the 1111 operated between 11/1/30 and 12/1/30 on the Erie putting in 2,922 miles in freight service and 3,058 in passenger. It ran on the Lackawanna bewteen 2/22/31 and 4/8/31 with 834 miles on freight and 15,140 on passenger. Chuck Yungkurth Boulder CO ------------------------------
