I will not only indulge the moderator as he has certainly made an effort
to increase the membership of this list, but I will remind him of a
conversation here several months ago concerning whether or not toy trains
were appropriate for little girls. 

We kept my four-year old niece (the one with the outrageous Thomas and
Brio collections) happily occupied on Saturday during the mayhem which
precedes a family wedding by having her run Thomas up the NEC on my
laptop (Note: Microsoft Train Simulator as a babysitting tool). Only
problem was that twenty-three-year old cousin (Female, gorgeous, M.ED.)
and seventeen-year old cousin (Southern California beach girl with a
brain :-)) both felt they ought to supervise, i.e. play with Thomas
themselves, instead of setting up tables, doing flowers et c.
