John -- 2996 was one of four of the 2250-series coaches which had many lives as coach/buffet/parlor/diner/whatever, starting in the late '30's. You're right -- its exterior configurstion never changed EXCEPT for the kitchen windows: three windows had their sills raised to accomodate the interior fixtures. The car still exists. Randy Brown - -------------------------------------------------------------- Listers, EL 750, Erie 2996 was in service as a Lounge/Diner until the late 1960's in EL service. This is the one car that remained in its original exterior configuration, and was never modernized. Was this car originally constructed as a coach in 1926, and converted to a Lounge/Diner in 1948?
