Philip: When you reply to a message, your reply is followed by the earlier message, which followed by all the previous message. That is a waste of space in the system, which tries to store everything it sees. This very message went all the way back to Chris Thurner's original and came up through several sets of replies. Those replies all now reside in the memory of everyone on the list an in the archives. It would be much more polite to reply to a message, but delete everything that went before. There also seems to be little point to sending your reply both to the sender and to the list, which the sender gets anyway. If you want the list to see it, send it to the list. If it's private, send it to the sender. For instance, I cut off everything except your immediate last message, and then I sent it to the list but not to you also. I would appreciate the info. Philip Martin martinpl3_@_earthlink.net ------------------------------
