Did I misread the news release? I read that the journal overheated (hotbox) and the wheel WAS REMOVED. That being the case, what should NJT have said? FLASH! Emergency maintenance undertaken! (followed by a detailed, technical discussion of journals, bearings, lubrication, inspection, removal and restoration [ yawn! ]) C'mon, folks. Something failed. They found it. They fixed it. The next time you have a flat tire, report it to the nerwspaper as a massive failure of infrastructure and watch the result.
