There was a mention of EL E8s in a contemporary magazine column (possibly Trackside in the Diesel Age in Railroad Magazine). Some of them were apparently running on freight somewhere in Ohio or Indiana, and a former Penn Central engineer was complaining loudly about what "bad engines" that they were "unreliable junk" or some such description. I never heard any more about them hauling freight on CR after that. . . John Redden ------------------------------
