I do have photos of CR 4014 (ex-EL 825) in NJDOT service, the latest shot in that service was taken February of 1980. The next photo in my collection shows it sitting in the Harrisburg deadline (I believe this was in the ex-RDG Rutherford Yard) in Oct. of 1980, so it would appear that after NJDOT returned the unit to CR, it was put onto the deadline (and scrapped not too long afterwards).

The 4014 never wore any paint other than its EL paint with CR restencilling. Prior to its stint on the NY&LB, it was first on the Cleveland-Youngstown "commuter" train, and then in late 1977 was on the Chicago-Valparaiso (Indiana) commuter run, before finally coming out to NJ in 1978. A shame that unit was never preserved! In 1977, however, CR ran inspection trains with 4022/4014 (ex-833/825) - 4022 in CR blue, 4014 in EL paint!

Sister 4022 (EL/Erie 833) appears to have briefly worked the NY&LB trains until CR took the unit back for executive service exclusively.

There is only one other EL E-unit that I have photographic evidence of being restencilled (not repainted) for CR, and that was CR 4011 (ex-EL/Erie 822) It was in the Altoona deadline by 1977, though.
