Yup, Erie only had one SW1 (#360). I think it's rather humorous (and shows the tremendous pull that Erie management had on the newly-formed EL) that the DL&W SW1's (11 of them) were renumbered BEFORE Erie's sole unit (of course, the DL&W units were numbered in Erie's SW7/SW9 400-series, but anyhoo... ;) Does anyone know how many SW1s received EL paint? (not just an EL number?) I have confirmation of only ONE that got the B/Y freight scheme - and that's in Larry DeYoung's EL in Color Vol. 4. Most were sold off in the mid-1960s and didn't get a repaint, but I can't imagine that only ONE got repainted? There were at least a couple of Alco S1s (also retired about the same time) that got repainted EL B/Y... - Paul > -----Original Message----- > From: VSX9000_@_aol.com [mailto:VSX9000@aol.com] > Sent: Tuesday, December 02, 2003 9:33 AM > To: erielack_@_lists.railfan.net > Subject: (erielack) Erie SW1s to E-L > > > Was reading a roster that showed one Erie SW1 going to the E-L. > > Is that all the Erie had ( I would not think so), or is all > that made it to > yhe E-L ? > > > Thanks, > Lou > ------------------------------
