Howard and list : The Branchline coach will NOT model the Erie 1000-series coach!!! It WILL model the Erie 2250-2288 cars. They didn't get the 1000 numbers until the grand remodelling of 1947-48., which so drastically changed their appearance above the belt rail. Only two retained their clerestory roofs after'47-'48: 2996 (ne: 2258) and 2999 (ne: 2287). They were coach/parlor/buffet/lounge/diners (their configurations kept changing ); they kept their windows, except for three with higher sills at the kitchen. 2997 (ne:2286) and 2998 (ne: 2287) got the turtle roof and "picture" windows in 1947 and 1948, respectively. They also floated around as coach/buffet/parlor etc. All four got GGY paint;as far as I know, none got GMY. I would welcome correction. See DeYoung-DelVecchio COLOR GUIDE for specific cars. There was no 2995. Randy Brown - -------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Paul and all: The Branchline coaches are correct with 22 windows for the 1000-series of Erie Thru-Line Coach (see Diamond article #2). Only five remained with the monitor (clerestory) roof after the 1947 modernization, and they were buffet-lounge-or parlor cars. The outside of the Branchline car is similar to the outside of the EL 2995/6 buffet-diner-lounge, that were painted in both Erie 2-tone Green and EL colors.
