I don't know what causes the problem, but it is really a pain non grades. We have had the problem on the MA&N out of Utica (EL content) using the former EL C425's having to double head 6-8 car trains. Adirondack scenic has had similar problems with 4-6 car passenger trains. The east & west slope of the Poconos on the DL has also been a killer, especially the east slope with 23-30 cars, and 4 Alcos. Maybe it is all of the pollution that is in the air?
