Re: (erielack) Trackside at Marathon Depot



Having been one of the show vendors on Saturday, I can attest to the
*entire* stucture being concrete, and looking to have been cast as such, for
the four main outer walls anyhow.  The floor is concrete as well, though
there is apparently a basement below (perhaps only on the passenger waiting
room end of the building?)

Oddly, the "bay" window is on the back side - between the johns - probably
the prettiest window in the buiding.  The doors in the freight end open in
an unusual manner - they're split across in the middle only and use a chain
and counterweight manual operated lift which pulls the middle of the door
in, folding it in half, as it's raised from the floor.

They did a nice job with it, though given the construction it's probably
cheaper to fix it and use it than to tear it down (!) -
