This is awfully fast considering the amount of stuff that has to be put
underground (signal system and its power).

Andover.

The Major Investment Study indicates that a subsidy contract will be
developed for NJT to operate the trains, similar to the arrangement with
Metro-North for Port Jervis and Spring Valley service.

This is the first I've heard of this. The MIS says the trains will go
through to Hoboken. There IS room at Hoboken or the MMC for two or three
trains. At least one off-peak train is planned to run west in the
morning, returning late in the afternoon in time for a trip to Scranton.

Hopefully the same number. As above, there is supposed to be an off-peak
trip out in the morning and back in the afternoon. It doesn't cost that
much to run the trains once the line is rebuilt and the trains are bought.
There are possibilities of markets for an afternoon train from Scranton
which would get people to NYC in time for evening theater and sports
events, with a last train home possibly as late as midnight.

Plans for weekend service are also being developed to promote tourism in
BOTH directions.

I think at least 2010 given the current NON-availability of money to do much.
