EastRAIL 2003
EastRAIL 2003 will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Warren Hills 
Regional High School with the first presentation to start at 10am.

EastRAIL is an annual railroad slide, sound and video production with 
presentations by some of the finest railroad historians. This year's 
presentations are:

  a.. Steam Locomotive Videos by Mark Balkin and Jim Boyd
  b.. "PCC - Pretty Cool Cars", PCC cars in Newark, Philadelphia, San 
Francisco and Boston by Steve Barry
  c.. "Anthracite Railroading Stories" by Mike Bednar (live narration)
  d.. "Willing People of the Western Pacific" by Ted Benson (live 
narration)
  e.. "Delaware & Hudson - Changing Colors, Changing Seasons", D&H 1970s 
- - 1990s by Mark Demaline
  f.. "Flanged Wheels in Five Movements" by Ron Flanary
  g.. "Iron Ore Roads of the Great Lakes", Missabe, Erie Mining, Cartier 
and more by Mike Harting
  h.. "Last Harvest", Grain elevators on the Canadian prairies by Greg 
McDonnell
  i.. "Big O's Shorts", scummy locomotives, time exposures, rainy days 
and the American flag by Dave Oroszi
  j.. "The Erie's Greenwood Lake Line" by Paul Tupaczewski
  k.. "Rock & Roll Through the 80's", highlights trips thru Maine to 
Virginia, Quebec to British Columbia by K.C. Smith
Special feature:
    "All This Darkness Passed - A Tribute to Richard Steinheimer" by Ted 
Benson

Admission tickets are $10 for advance sales or $15 if purchased at the 
door. Tickets for children under 16 years of age are $5 in advance or $8 
at the door.

To order tickets in advance go to the URHS on-line store. All proceeds 
fund the restoration of locomotives and cars being preserved for the New 
Jersey Transportation Heritage Center. For more information send an

United Railroad Historical Society member groups and "The Friends of the 
New Jersey Transportation Heritage Center" will have sales and 
information tables. Lunch and food service will be available.

Directions to Warren Hills Regional High School:
>From I-78 travel north on Rt. 31 through Washington Borough. Jackson 
Valley Road is located about 1 mile (north) past Rt. 57. Turn left 
(west) onto Jackson Valley Road. The school is located less than 1 mile 
on the right.
