(erielack) Erie River Line Question

I understand that there was a problem with the grade fill settling somewhere 
along the Erie River Line making it expensive to operate.  Specifically, were 
the problem fills along the approach to the west abutment of the Genesee 
River Trestle?  Second, I heard that the west abutment approach fill replaced 
an old wooden trestle.  Was the trestle removed or filled over?  Does anyone 
know when the River Line was opened and when it was Conrailed?
