Listers: My sources inform me that a work train from the WNYPA RR was sighted in Wellsville yesterday (9/30). Apparently the consist included the 2 C424 (pls. note my sources do not remotely fit the description of 'railfan' and therefore I am only speculating to the makeup of the power), with one at each end. No further info on makeup of the rolling stock, other than they said it 'looked' like a work train. I was informed that they went out to the eastern bounds of the village, east of the Rt. 417 overpass (Dyke St.), out by the Ames store and as far as the former 'Funland' skating rink on Baldwin Rd. (just short of the main Alstom / Air Preheather plant). Looks like WNYPA made good on its promise to have the line open to Wellsville by the end of September. Any further info welcome.
