(erielack) Erie Telltales and Winterization Hatches -- Aha!

Dear Group,

May 2002 Model Railroader, p.84...

Article on Erie RR telltales has a photo that shows four Erie GP9s
*** with winterization hatches! ***

So now we know.  Interesting article on the telltales, btw... the ones I
have seen have wire or chains hanging from the crossarm instead of rope
- -- presumably to detect high and wide equipment rather than to warn
crewmen on the roofwalks.
