Getting caught up on my list mail and found a great string of responses to
my question about the top of the RS3 in the March Calendar photo.

Thanks to Paul T., Lon Godshall, Howard Haines and Al Reibel for their
insight.  Now that I understand about "rail dust" and the corrosion it
causes,  a lot of other rust patterns I've seen on equipment make more
sense.
