The thread on Old Topo Maps does not seem to include a link to early
1900's topographic maps that include many now abandoned lines....
Much of New England, New York and part of New Jersey, Delaware,
Maryland, and Pennsylvania are available from the University of New
Hampshire Diamond Library web site at
http://docs.unh.edu/nhtopos/nhtopos.htm. They are currently available
in jpeg format.
Ohio maps are currently being scanned and made available in DjVU
format at http://railsandtrails.com/usgs1900/oh/.
The djvu format provides the ability to change zoom levels and
navigate very quickly once the map has downloaded. Highly magnified
areas are still very viewable.
