All my Hoboken native friends (and their parents) say "SEE-caw-cus." They'd joke
about people saying it "your" way: that was an easy mark of a non-Hudson county
person!

My old girlfriend's Dad, who grew up in Hobo the 40s, said that if somebody got
married and moved out of Hoboken to Secaucus, everybody said they were "moving
out to the country!" Of course, back then it *was* the country: pig farms and
swamp! 
The Arcadia book about Secaucus shows this, and has some cool Erie RR photos in
the Meadowlands as well (required list content... 8-))
