(erielack) Metro North Port Jervis and Pascack Valley Lines

Hello Everyone,

Here is a link for anyone interested in Metro North's
plans for the Port Jervis Line and Pascack Valley
lines in Orange and Rockland Counties, NY. They are
going to invest $200 million in: 65 new passenger
cars; track and signal upgrades; yard upgrades in Port
Jervis and Woodbine; and increase parking at their
station lots. A new Station has been proposed in
Woodbury, NY at the Woodbury Commons Outlet Shopping
Center to help ease the overcrowing in Harriman on the
Port Jervis Line. The article also talks about the
Secaucus transfer and a possible future connection of
Metro North's Port Jervis Line with its Hudson Line by
way of a new bridge or tunnel under the Hudson River
in the vicinity of todays Tappan Zee Bridge. This
proposed bridge/tunnel would allow Metro North
West-of-Hudson customers a one seat ride into Grand
Central Station.

Here is another link related to the above link...Metro
North's "Feasibility and Benefit-Cost Study of
Trans-Hudson, Cross-Westchester and Stewart Airport
Rail Links". The reading is quite dry, but if you
scroll down there are several maps included which show
the different proposed rail link configurations:
