(erielack) The "List Cop" returns

Based on several E-mails sent to me by list members, it's time to go
over the rules of the list again....

* The list is to discuss topics of EL, DL&W and Erie interest (as well
as associated items, such as early NYS&W, and current-day events that
affect former EL lines physically, such as new stations, line
relocations and abandonments)
* The list is NOT to discuss topics that fall outside the realm of the
above. Examples: PATH stations in New York City, NJ Transit fare
increases,

A number of people have decided to leave the list due to the lack of
focus in its content (see above), and I honestly can't blame them. I
know that some have argued that some of the above are relevant, but
IMHO, it's about as relevant as discussing Nabisco cookies ("Nabisco was
an EL consignee in Fair Lawn, NJ!") Arguably, EL passengers rode the
PATH, but the only PATH items directly relevant to the EL would be its
stations at Hoboken and Pavonia. NJT fare increases, by ANY stretch of
the imagination, do NOT have anything to do with the EL!

I probably am partially to blame by posting photos of NJT's new electric
- - it was just a "here's what's running on today's EL," and wasn't meant
to turn into a discussion on the merits of modern electric aesthetic
design. I won't do that again!

Sorry to have to put a damper on this, but if these rules aren't
occasionally enforced, chaos would reign supreme. Thanks for your
understanding!
