Re: (erielack) EL 50768



When I went to Indianapolis the first time we cut across Ohio and headed
north at Columbus to come home...  on I-71 north above Columbus on the east
side of the highway is a farm where another one of these cars is used as an
outbuilding, less trucks, but when I saw it (1995 I think) it hadn't been
repainted.

I seem to recall reading that the EL disposed of a lot of these cars as the
era of the 40' boxcar came to a slow end, and the company who ended up with
the final disposal on them sold a lot of them for use as storage buildings
mainly in Ohio.
