Having seen the Timken ad in the new Diamond, here's $.02 worth.
The first head car could be a B&O short, single-door baggage car.  The door is inset as a slider, not outside hung as a reefer door would be.  The "keystone", seen at an acute angle, could be the B&O Capitol Dome emblem, for these cars carried one there.

The next four cars are probably Erie heavyweights:  the lightweights would have a lower roof line.

In fact, it's the roof line that's causing the confusion.  They've been airbrushed into uniformity to come as close as the Erie could to a streamlined look to go with their new diesels and rebuilt coaches and diners for this obviously company publicity shot.

However, I stand by my earlier remarks on interchange of head end cars.  Here is a chance for modellers to include colorful cars and interesting operations in their passenger service.
