Re: (erielack) Phoebe Snow Box cars



Phoebe Snow, the character, goes back before WW I.  The DLW used her for
advertizing their use of anthracite coal in passenger train locomotives,
which meant far fewer cinders in the cars.  There were jingles about her
travels on the 'Road of Anthracite'.  Phoebe Snow, the train, was indeed
introduced in 1949.
