Looks to me like the Paulinskill, having paddled and fished in it in days gone by.  I don't know how far up the Delaware one would need to go to get in such shallows in the 1920-30s era (based on the phone number).
As for the diamond, I think that refers to one of the anthricite coal companies' logos, possibly with DL&W hauling it out.  The logo states Scranton, and I am not familiar with those mines.
