One other item that calls into question the legitimacy of the 9-12-75 date is also in the Vol 3 book... On pg 42, there is a pic of NY-100 at Analomink, shot in the morning hours, where the caption date is Sept 13, 1975. Given that pg 45 Vol 3 says the wreck happened on the evening of the 12th, and was still there the next morning, would make it impossible for NY-100 to be barreling through Analomink. A NY-100 at Analomink in the morning would mean it woulda been out of Binghamton after midnite, meaning there would have been sufficient time to detour it via the Delaware. The wreck would have already ocurred before NY-100 was comitted to the Scranton route. Also, note the differences in atmospheric conditions between the two pics. The NY-100 pic shows clear blue skies, while the pic of wrecked 3637 reportedly taken on the same morning showed overcast conditions (no direct sunlight). ------------------------------
