(erielack) New NJT locos

Listers:

I'm a latecomer to the discussion on this particular topic, but I'm going to
be unpopular, as I feel the same way Schuyler does, I like the new locos and
I have also liked the F59's and believe it or not, the GE Genesis series
(OH! I can feel the flamethrowers igniting as I speak!).

Don't get me wrong, I like the E, F, FA and PA series, very much actually.
I liked the DL109's, the Erie builts and the C Liners too.

This is a different era. Let's see something new. I also believe in the
future we will lament the passing of these (or at least most of these)
locos.

Also, how would everyone feel (especially those who are NJT commuters), if
these locos pulled and had the operational reliability of the FA/PA's?

Given that these purchases involve a lot of public (i.e. tax) $, lets have
locos that are functional and reliable first, then worry about aesthetics
later, particularly those cosmetic attributes that increase the price
significantly (and provide no return on invested $). In other words, give
me a dependable, reliable econobox that can pull, than a sleek expensive one
that breaks down all the time, particularly if I'm depending on them to get
me from point A to point B.

Regards,

Chris
