It would seem to resemble a combination of the LIRR things and the newer Amtrak P42's, both of which are more or less a mildly streamlined block on wheels. It is a shame that these modern designers don't seem to be able to think past the streamlined brick - I would think with some imagination you could have a more tradtional layout and still look modern at the same time. I'd have to question with these and similar units if there is any more potential risk to the crew without any sort of nose to protect in an accident, especially given the increased speeds these units would run - it would seem a long nose such as the PA's had, with an intentionally designed crumple area (or even the F/E unit's designed break point behind the cab) might be better suited to protect a crew, should any sort of accident happen. Okay, these might be well built and hold up in a collision, but where is the crew going to end up when their momentum stops? I'd also think the slope of the nose would work against you, as anything very tall is going to slide right up the front and possibly enter the window area. I'd hope also these don't suffer the same bugs as the LIRR units, frame cracks and such that have them already going out for overhauls - Being an artist rendering there's some artistic liscense in it I'm sure... likely the actual unit will be somewhat different, in that there will be less metal between the front and side windows to block the engine crew's vision if nothing else. The angle doesn't seem to match either between the slope of the front and the slope of the leading edge of the window, but that could just be the perspective of the drawing.
