Dear Group, Bill K has already said what I originally thought -- not likely an FT would be rebuilt in 1965. They were already gone from most roads by then. Always wondered why at least the FT carbodies weren't re-used... although a few (on other roads) probably ended up as F7s or F9s, before even those models ceased production. Question is, when did the remaining FTs (or, for that matter, F3s and GP7s) disappear en masse from the EL? What were they traded in for -- GP35s?? I can't recall whether EL purchased any other four-axle second generation EMDs that could have made use of the Blomberg B trucks and traction motors. I do know that EL was among the last northern railroads to continue using a sizeable fleet of F7s and even the re-geared E8s right up to C-day... so I guess we can be thankful for that.
