Where's the authoritative data? > Don't know about 'authoritivative data', but the wreck of #3657 & #3667 occured when the two units were moving eastbound NY100 through Ohio when the train, traveling east on the westbound main to overtake two slower eastbound merchandise trains, went through into a thrown switch at the Harbison-Walder Brickyard in Windham on the Mahoning Div., sending the train into the siding. The switch was vandalized and thrown by two kids, 7 & 8 years old. Engineer Raymond Wilcox was killed,with the Brakeman and Fireman injured. The wreck caused about $500,000 in damage at a time when the EL could ill afford it. This was exerpted from Vol. 1, No. 4 of the ELHS's Erie Railfan - ironically as part of the story, editor Roger Rasor printed the photograph he had taken of the ill-fated eastbound 90 minutes earlier as it rolled through Wadsworth...
