STATEN ISLAND REHAB: The Union County, New Jersey freeholders have authorized 
the use of $500,000 in state Transportation Trust Funds to rehabilitate a 
portion of the defunct Staten Island Railroad, between Cranford and 
Elizabeth, N.J. The five and 1/2 mile stretch of track has not seen train 
service since 1991. Union County has selected the Morristown & Erie to 
rehabilitate and operate the line
