RE: (erielack) Stillwell coaches and Mantua K-4

Listers, 2 Modeling Questions regarding Mantua steam locos. Do they work
well with Digitrax DCC and are they compatible with atlas turnouts? Any
advise would be helpful. thanks in advance, Bob.

Hi Folks,

I would agree with Paul that the most detailed Erie Pacifics would be brass
if you've got the bucks.

However, today in the mail Manuta sent me a different pilot like the ones in
the pictures, and bell for the boiler front. I didn't ask for them, just
sent
a copy of my review asking for a photo or reference of the engine they
modeled. They sent parts to match the pictures I could view. I am unsure
whether the model I received had a "one-of'-a-kind" pilot, or what--not much
to compare it with here in Montana. But the change clears up the pilot and
bell mystery on their K-4 Pacific. The model is not brass, but it pulls
well,
delights the kids with smoke, and it looks (to me) to be pretty good.

H Haines
