Plans were made for the A Train to operate in NJ via the GWB's lower deck. 
Because of the Port Authority it was never done. With the A Express from 
Brooklyn to 168th Street it could have ran to Newark and brought people into 
NYC faster and more direct to their points. On PATH going west from 44th 
Street the 7 line could be extended to NJ displacing NJT's 108 bus route. The 
L is another line that could have been extended to NJ meeting up with the 
IronBound A(Today C) to NJPAC while the 7 went to Penn Station via Giants 
Stadium.
