The NIMBYs again strike against rail service from Scranton to Hoboken.
The Pocono Record headline this morning was “Smithfield derails train
station plans.”

According to the article the supervisors were “adamantly opposed to “
the train station in the town of Delaware Water Gap.”   “…”the
supervisors’ concerns about congestion was the main reason for opposing
the plan”

The public meeting to be held in January has been put off for 6 weeks
